Ten Years

$2.079

I have been in St. Louis for ten years now — the longest I’ve roosted anywhere during my adult life.

It’s been a fun ten years, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know this city and working for the my employer. There’ve been some ups and downs, both personally and professionally, but I’ve sure enjoyed the time here and wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.

The only thing that I’ve regretted is not being home in Chattanooga to spend more time with my folks, especially in the years leading up to Dad’s death just three years ago, and during my Mom’s battle with CML. Just before I moved here, I spent almost every weekend at my folks’ place on the mountain, and saw my mother almost daily at the office. That time meant a lot to me, and in some ways I feel a little bad that I haven’t been able to be more involved to take care of the both of them — kinda like I’ve shirked my duties.

So, what’s up for the next ten years? That’s a great question. Making sure I hit fifty is a great goal! 🙂 I’d love for my photography to take off, and I sure would enjoy finding more time to pursue that dream. I’d just say, “Watch this space!” and see what happens….
