Bubblin’ Crude

$1.949

Overnight, the price of a barrel of crude went to just over $50. Almost like magic, the local price of gas went up over a dime.

Allegedly, this is in response to the evacuations and production stoppage from the platforms in the Gulf during the recent hurricanes. I’m not sure I entirely believe that, but speculation is speculation, and there’s definitely speculation going on with the price of oil. The fact that this occurs just before winter in the Northern Hemisphere doesn’t bode well for prices this winter.

Myself, I’m continuing to drive my normal drive, plan my trips as I would, and try not to let the sticker shock hit me too hard when I fill up!
