I was told about this on Friday, but today it was announced and official…. I’ve been promoted!

Yup, perserverance and a ton of hard work finally paid off. This is my first promotion since I stepped away from my managerial role in 2000, and I’m tickled pink. I think I’ve been doing this level of work for a while — it’s nice to have that recognized and acted on!

So, what’s the new title? Lead Systems Engineer. Which means that I’m doing really the same thing I was doing before: being the go-to resource for the middleware components of arguably our largest and most complex environment. And, having just passed ten years with the company, I carry a ton of cobweb encrusted history in my noggin that ocassionally falls out of my mouth at the right time.

I’m thrilled!
