Nibbler is the little kitten that has adopted Mom and Kevin. Such a cutie! A fine example of why kittens are so much fun.

The best of the best — my favorite shots!
On Her White Stallion
Beck, Sio and I went to Coolidge Park in downtown Chattanooga today. They have a giant indoor carousel there, which costs but 50 cents to ride. Sio rode several times, and let me shoot her taking her favorite horse (for the day) out for a brisk sprint.
White-Breasted Nuthatch
This one was fun to watch. Back and forth, from the feeders to the tree, where he’d eat his seed, I kept wondering if he would tire. He was relentless though, and kept this up for quite a while.
Black-Capped Chickadee
This little guy was on the feeders for quite a while, exchanging places with a nuthatch that would drop by, pick up a seed, and eat it on a nearby tree.
Lunar Corona
The high clouds were moving in, and the moon had a wonderful, colorful ring around it. I took quite a few shots of it, but this one best showed what it looked like to my eyes. The colors were obvious in the sky, and made for a beautiful ending to a great Thanksgiving day.
Northern Cardinal
These are beautiful birds, and are of particular interest around St. Louis. After the snow, this one perched upon the snow covered limb, and just sat, watching the world go by. This made for a very commanding appearance!
Eurasian Tree Sparrow
These birds were all over the finch feeder, too, and were chasing everyone else away! They seemed to have no regard for up or down, and were just as happy to hang upside down to eat their meal. From what I’ve read in my bird book, these are only found around St. Louis, introduced for reasons unknown. Of course, that’s assuming I’ve identified it correctly!
American Goldfinch
These guys were all over the finch feeder after the snow. I was thrilled that I’d built the bird feeder stand, as it made for many, many visitors, and plenty of nice photos!
Fire in the Snow
With the snowfall today, a few fall trees have been caught with the colors still up. As I passed by a manmade pond in a subdivision along my route home, I was struck by the beauty of these lone red figures, contrasted against the snowy landscape and dark waters.
Winter’s Sky
Tonight, the moon shone brightly upon the snowy landscape, a reminder that the big switch in the sky has moved from fall to winter. God’s hand is upon that switch, and occassionally, we get a glimpse of His wonder through His works.
