Taken in Washington DC, this image was captured on film, which gives it a grittiness that really captures the nature of the Marines depicted.
Iwo Jima Memorial is available through my online gallery, and is available in a variety of sizes.
Fresh images, brought here as they are published and displayed. These are images available for purchase.

As part of my cross-country drive, I knew I wanted to see Devils Tower up close. The beauty of this giant monolithic structure was awesome. This structure is still revered by the Native Americans as sacred ground.
Devils Tower is available through my online gallery, and is available in a variety of sizes. This image at 16″ x 20″ is currently hanging at Framations Art Gallery.
On my first visit to Yellowstone, I was amazed at the number of bison throughout the park. It was wonderful to see the species thriving and vibrant at the park. This image captured the old west feel of the bison as they roamed the plain.

While staying at a lodge at Glacier National Park, I noticed this skull fabricated from hubcaps hanging outside the lodge. It really seemed to speak to me, especially with the “old west” treatment I gave the image in the studio.
Recycled is available through my online gallery, and is available in a variety of sizes.
Over the last few years, I’ve begun taking to seasons of cycling on the Katy Trail here in east central Missouri. One particular morning on the trail, the sun filtered through the canopy of trees, and I found myself facing a brilliant light show upon the trail.
Katy’s Light is available through my online gallery, and is available in a variety of sizes.
For those folks that frequented the site a couple of years ago, you probably remember that I was trying to post new images weekly — a “photo of the week.” This is a great goal, but it’s also at once both limiting and obligatory, and I had trouble living up to it: too much life and not enough time. This year brings a new look to the site (which is continuing to be fine tuned), and a new approach to releasing my work. It’s what I call “fresh art.”
“Fresh Art” are images that could be images from old film or newly photographed digital. The thing they all have in common is that they are gaining focus as a new release from my studio. They’re announced here, as well as on my blog, and are made available for purchase on my online Yessy Art Gallery. Some of these images will also be hung at Framations Art Gallery, or soon will be.
Please check back for new pieces as they appear. Let me know what you like, and why, and definitely let me know if there are images you’ve seen from me that you’d like to see featured here and in the galleries, both online and brick and mortar. Enjoy!
During my DLWS sessions at Yosemite National Park, the class traveled to Glacier Point to watch the dying sunlight on Half Dome. While we watched the glow from the sunset behind us, we were treated to a beautiful moonrise through the thin clouds.
Moonrise at Half Dome is available in a variety of sizes. Please visit my sales gallery on Zenfolio if you are interested in purchasing Moonrise at Half Dome.
This image of the Gateway Arch was shot late in the afternoon, and features a cloud-draped Sun straddled by the arch. I was leaving a Cardinals game at the old Busch Stadium when I saw this brilliant combination of light and dark on the arch.
Gateway Arch is available in a variety of sizes. Please visit my sales gallery on Zenfolio if you are interested in purchasing Gateway Arch.
I’d promised getting some of the Blue Angels images from the St. Louis County Fair posted. Tonight, I’m delivering four of those images.
The first, Angels Delta captures the Blue Angels in a delta formation, overhead and in a turn.
The second, Angels Diamond, was also taken at the fair as the Blue Angels flew overhead.
The third, Gear Down, shows the underbelly of one of the Blue Angels aircraft as it comes in to land.
The last, Slow Diamond, captures the Blue Angels flying low and slow in a diamond formation.
All these images are available in a variety of sizes. Please visit my sales gallery on Zenfolio if you are interested in purchasing any of the airshow images.
Since I didn’t have a photo up last week, I’ve included two images from my trip to the Outer Banks in 2005.
The first, Footprints captures the tracks of a small bird across the sands at the ocean along the Outer Banks.
The second, Little Crab, was also taken on the sands at the Outer Banks. I found this little guy running around on the beach, and he was nice enough to pause so I could take a close-up photo of him.
Both Footprints and Little Crab are available in a variety of sizes. Please visit my sales gallery on Zenfolio if you are interested in purchasing Footprints or Little Crab.
