This sign, found at a rest area just west of Goodland KS, had a decal added. Doing a little research, it’s promoting an album called “Genius” by Krizz Kaliko. I’ve never heard of him, but I thought this kind of promotion was pretty cool.

Project 365 : Holey Blue Moley!
Tonight’s image was just a quicky. I’ve been staring at the blue light in my eSATA enclosure for a while, thinking that it’d make a nice subject. And so it has.
I made this image with my Canon 7D and Canon MP-E 65mm/2.8 lens at 1x life size. I worked the image in Photoshop CS4E, Nik Viveza and a little touch of localized work in Lightroom.
Project 365 : Earbud Eclipse
Tonight’s dive into macroland is a tight shot of my unused iPhone earbuds. Once again, I captured the image with my Canon 7D and my Canon MP-E 65mm/2.8, this time at about 2x life size. I lit this with a desk lamp, and then processed the image in Adobe Photoshop CS4E, with a touch of Nik Color Efex Pro thrown in.
Project 365 : Steal These Shoes
In the copy room at work today, I found these rubber overshoes, with a pleading note atop them:
“Please! Take me home before someone throws me away!”
It’s my bet that somebody nabbed them from someone else’s office as a prank. But think of the plight of these lonely rubber overshoes, soulless and lonely. Afraid for their very existence. It’s terrifying! 🙂
Project 365 : Blue Diamonds
Every time I think I’m done with the pendulum, it surprises me with something new. Today, I noted these fine diamonds etched in the sand by the pendulum from another recent session with it, and decided that they might look nice with some low-angle lighting added. I liked the look.
Once I pulled the image into Photoshop CS4E, I used Nik Viveza to nudge the image to black and white, and add the deep blue toning. I’m a big “blue” fan, so this deep blue toning really spoke to me.
Enjoy!
Fresh Art: Blue Chesspieces
Tonight, I pulled my old slide light table out, put a glass chessboard atop it, and began to play with some glass chesspieces I had lying about.
I’ve been wanting to play with this light table for a while, and finding these chesspieces gave me just the excuse. I suspect I’ll use it with some other images of bottom-lit glass and liquids. Should be some fun experimenting.
Blue Chesspieces is available through my online gallery in a variety of sizes.

Fresh Art: Moonrise at Yavapai Point
NOTE: Â Today begins the release of a series of images from our trip to the American southwest in 2004. Â Enjoy, and come back frequently to see this fresh art!
Getting up early to catch the sunrise at the lip of the Grand Canyon, Becky and I were treated to a beautiful early glow in the sky, with the Moon leading the Sun by a few hours. Â Sunrises like this make me feel like I can see almost every color possible.
